What Customers Say About Sanyo Katana DLX 8500 Silver Phone (Sprint):

It was off when it charge and it didnt work.I tried different charges for the phone and it wouldnt charge, yet when I placed other phones *of the same brand on it* they would charge.Mine may be a defect but this was rediculous. Not to mention, I set my purse down and it fell out, the battery popped out easily. I made sure that I didnt leave any applications running and it still die. I'd text a few messages, it die.

I had it for 1 months and only use it every once in awhile.I turn it off to charge and let it charge for days but it keeps dieing on me. My old plan has unlimited texing and internet. Well, the battery power is bad.

I was given this phone. So, as I had the phone for no more then several months, I noticed that when I charged it completely, the battery power would die quickly. I had to tape it on for it to stick.Im taking it back but hope they dont report me b/c 'upgrades are illegal at sprint.' =S or so what they tell me at the stores here. *NO I'm not on analoge roam*I got this phone after the guy at the srpint store said it was 'illegal' for me to upgrade and he'll report b/c it was criminal to upgrade.

I know, I figured it was because he wanted me to get rid of my old plan and get a new one.

awesome. I'm constantly on the road, now instead of fumbling with a pen and paper while i'm driving, i just turn on the voice memo, and everything they say is recorded. I wish it took a little better pictures close up, but other then that, I love it. Especially the in call voice memo.

this is a great phone lve the menu iocns for sanyo theme easy to use and the clarity on calls is great linked to my bluetooth easily this is a fun phone to have being that I was a nextel guy but the calls are alot clearer on the sprint network and you don't have that annoying you here youeself when you talk like on nextel

I'm a big Sanyo fan on Sprint and they have outdone themselves this time.plus its a great looking phone. The retail store told me that Sprint is supposed to have some exciting phones coming out in the next few months and this is just the tip of the iceberg. Over the past year I have used the LG Fusic, Samsung A900 (Blade) and Motorola RAZR (awful) and this phone is just great. Reception is good too, although I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because I have dropped a couple of calls since I got the phone last week, but nothing excessive. All I can say is its about time. It's user interface is customizable, screen is crystal clear with great colors and speakerphone works well. I have no problems or delay accessing e-mail as others have stated.

In fact the very first phone we got, we didnt even get out of the store before we realized that you could not answer the call coming in to the phone. so exchange #3 happened that next day.Exchange #3 happened very quickly because we already knew that we were testing out the phone.and it did not receive calls even the very next morning so on to the Sprint store we drove.even a different sprint store this time and a different color hoping for better results. Now we are on Exchange #4 and it has only been since the 15th of July from our original purchase /cringe.

While we love the features of the phone, we are worried about the reliability in the long run and want others to know of the risks and problems. and we are hoping for the best.so far so good.

Ok the phone sounded like a really good idea after owning the first series of Katana. The last straw was when my daughter called me late at night and ended up driving to my house at midnight because my phone simply was not working with no missed calls, no missed pages and no voice mails after at least 3 people were looking for me.

Sprint is denying any problems from others at these two stores. Especially with all of the new upgrades they promised, EVDO broadband, sterio media speakers, upgraded memory storage, a new 1.3 megapixel camera, etc. However, what good is all of these upgrades if the phone doesn't work.

So that was exchange #1.Exchange #2 happened in the first few days when the phone wouldnt ring when people were trying to call me, in fact we could be in the same house with someone dialing my phone and the phone simply wouldn't ring.
